Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former trainer his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies he has won 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.
His counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
